Me

I was born in Würzburg, Germany. I worked as a tax collector for several years before deciding to follow my passion for movies: I quit my job to study Film Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz, Germany.

In 2005/2006 I studied Telecommunications at Ball State University, Muncie, IN, USA, where I took part in digital film making, production, and directing classes - and first got a taste for the art of editing.

I graduated in Germany with a masters degree in Film Studies in July 2007, and moved to L.A. to pursue a career in the film industry.

In January/February 2008, Hollywood opened its doors for me, when I took part in the annual American Cinema Editors’ internship program. I spent a week each with Randy Morgan, A.C.E. on “Law & Order”, Christopher Rouse, A.C.E. on “The Green Zone”, and Sabrina Plisco, A.C.E. on “Beverly Hills Chihuahua”.

In October 2008 I joined the Motion Pictures Editors Guild (Local 700) and moved from reality to scripted television and features. Since then I’ve had the honor to assist many talented and award winning editors.

In television, I assisted my mentor, Emmy and Eddie winner Lori Jane Coleman, A.C.E., on the ABC Family’s sports drama “Make It Or Break It” and the first two seasons of the USA spy show “Covert Affairs”.

In features, I’ve worked with Oscar winners such as Richard Halsey, A.C.E. (on “Ticket Out” and “The Chicago 8”), Chris Rouse, A.C.E. (on “Burlesque”), Angus Wall, A.C.E. and Kirk Baxter, A.C.E. (on “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” for which they won the Oscar for Best Film Editing) and previous Oscar-nominee Matt Chessé, A.C.E. (on “Machine Gun Preacher”, and currently on “World War Z”).

As an editor, I’ve received additional editing credits on the features “Dancing Ninja”. and “Ticket Out”.

I’ve also cut a number short form projects for director Dave Gren, e.g. the pilot episode for the FearNet.com webseries “Zombie Roadkill”, and the ComedyCentral.com short “Ham Sandwich”, and the FunnyOrDie.com short “Dial M for Murder”.

I also edited the short film “Stew” for director Anna-Maria Roskewitsch, co-edited the short film “Lychee Thieves” for director Kathleen Mann and producer Stephen Gyllenhaal, and the award winning short “Carjack”, directed by Jeremiah Jones. I also won the editing competition Open Cut for the short film “Susannah”, directed by Evan Nicholas and producer Joe Carnahan (Narc, Smokin’ Aces).

Please see my IMDB page for my credits.
